The Application of Thermal Spraying Technology in Petrochemical Industry

In the oil industry, some drilling equipment parts, lifting equipment parts, pumps, api 607 fire safe ball valve, pipe joints, various pipelines and other parts that need corrosion resistance and wear resistance can be considered thermal spraying technology to extend their service life. In the existing research, the inner coating technology of sucker rod has made a breakthrough and been applied in Tarim oilfield. This technology mainly solves the corrosion problem of crude oil on the sucker rod. Coating the inner wall of sucker rod is also a breakthrough in spraying technology. For the wear of drilling tools, thermal spraying Ni, Cr, Si and other alloys from the butt hoop can increase the service life of the collar by 5 to 8 times, and spraying or laser cladding WC/Co alloy on the drill bit can improve the hardness and wear resistance of the drill bit and greatly improve the use efficiency of the drill bit. In addition, thermal spraying technology is also widely used in the screw pump in heavy oil mining. Due to serious scaling and wear, the pump inspection period is very short, so the screw pump cannot work normally. Nanometer doped Al2O3+TiO2 plasma spraying is used in the field mining test, and good results have been achieved. In order to prolong the service life of the catalytic equipment in refinery, the hard alloy powder is sprayed by plasma in the corrosive environment. The corrosion of offshore drilling platform by sea water is solved by thermal spraying and sealing of aluminum alloy.
