The ball of the ball valve is floating. Under the medium pressure, the ball can produce a certain displacement and press tightly on the sealing surface of the outlet end to ensure the sealing of the outlet end.
The floating ball valve has simple structure and good sealing performance, but the load of the working medium borne by the ball is transmitted to the outlet sealing ring. Therefore, it is necessary to consider whether the sealing ring material can withstand the working load of the ball medium. When it is impacted by high pressure, the ball may shift. This structure is generally used for medium and low pressure ball valves.

In order to reduce the operating torque of ball valve and increase the reliability of sealing, oil sealed ball valve has appeared in recent years. It not only injects special lubricating oil between sealing surfaces to form an oil film,but also reduces the operating torque.The ball of the ball valve is fixed and will not move after being pressed.
Fixed ball valves are equipped with floating valve seats. After being pressed by the medium, the valve seats move, so that the sealing ring is tightly pressed on the ball to ensure sealing. Usually, bearings are installed on the upper and lower shafts of the ball, and the operating torque is small, which is suitable for high-pressure and large-diameter valves.
Elastic Ball Valves (i.e. rail ball valve)
The ball of the ball valve is elastic. The ball and valve seat sealing ring are made of metal materials, and the sealing specific pressure is very large. The pressure of the medium itself cannot meet the sealing requirements, so external force must be applied. This valve is suitable for high temperature and high pressure media.
Elastic sphere is an elastic groove opened at the lower end of the inner wall of the sphere to obtain elasticity. When closing the channel, use the wedge head of the valve stem to open the ball and compress the valve seat to seal. Loosen the wedge head before rotating the ball, and then the ball will return to its original shape, resulting in a small gap between the ball and the valve seat, which can reduce the friction and operating torque of the sealing surface.
V Ball Valves
This kind of ball valve is a fixed ball valve and a single seat sealed ball valve. Its regulating performance is the best among the ball valves. The flow characteristics are equal percentage, and the adjustable ratio is 100:1. Its V-shaped notch has shear effect with the metal valve seat, which is especially suitable for media containing fibers, small solid particles, slurry and so on.
Three way ball valves are T-shaped and L-shaped. T-type can connect three orthogonal pipelines and cut off the third channel, which plays the role of diversion and confluence. L-type can only connect two mutually orthogonal pipelines, and cannot maintain the interconnection of the third pipeline at the same time, which only plays a distribution role.
